   On December 18, 1994 around 1:00am, 27 year old Alison Botha was returning to her home after spending an entire day out with friends. She pulled into a parking spot and turned off her lights and engine, happy to be home…when suddenly, somebody opened her driver side door and pressed a knife to her throat. “Move over or I’ll kill you”, the figure said – and so would begin a story of unimaginable horror.    You Are What You Eat: The Disappearance of Dylan Redwine

   On November 18, 2012, 13 year old Dylan Redwine was picked up from the Durango-La Plata County Airport by his father, whom he was visiting for Thanksgiving. Like most kids, Dylan wanted to spend as much time with his friends as possible. He had planned on spending the night at a friend’s house the day he arrived, but his father said no, wanting to spend quality time with his son. So Dylan texted his friend saying he’d be there bright and early the following morning. The morning of November 19th came and went, but Dylan never made it to his friend’s house. It would be months before any evidence of him turned up and years before anybody knew exactly what happened to him.    The Original Craigslist Killer: The Murder of Katherine Ann Olson

   On October 26, 2007, a good samaritan called the Savage, Minnesota police department to report a purse found in a trash can in Warren Butler Park. Inside, police found a phone number and a driver’s license belonging to a woman named Katherine Ann Olson, but Katherine was nowhere to be found. A subsequent search of a heavily wooded area near where the purse was found led detectives to an abandoned car…where the body of Katherine Olson was found in the trunk.    On August 2, 2014, Sheila Von Wiese and her daughter, Heather, flew first class to Bali, Indonesia, where they stayed at the St. Regis Hotel, a luxury five star resort. But their time in paradise came to an abrupt and tragic end when the body of Sheila was found stuffed in a suitcase.     Insane in the Mens Rea: Andre Lee Thomas

    On March 27, 2004, 21 year old Andre Lee Thomas broke into the apartment where his estranged wife, Laura, their son (Andre Jr.), Laura’s new boyfriend, and Laura’s daughter (Leyha) lived. Laura’s boyfriend was not home, but Laura, Andre Jr., and Leyha were. Andre killed all 3 of them and attempted to kill himself by stabbing himself in the chest. After realizing he was not dying, he turned himself in and confessed to his crimes. He was ultimately sentenced to death for capital murder, but what seems like an open and shut case of domestic violence is actually so much more and is still very much unresolved as of 2024.
