Base rates rise again – Paul’s message stays the same, keep calm and communicate!
Welcome to Paul’s Property Podcast, the podcast that answers all your questions about property, whether you are buying, selling, letting or just wanting to stay on top of what’s happening in the market. Your host is Paul Bott of Paul Bott and Company, a multiple gold award winning estate agency in Brighton. Paul has been in the business for nearly 30 years and has second-to-none knowledge of the property market in the Southeast of England. This week, Paul discusses the new that the Bank of England has raised the base rate to 5.25%. Don’t panic though! If you are buying, talk to an independent mortgage broker who can search the whole of the mortgage market for the best deal for you. Fixed rates are not increasing in line with the base rate, so a good broker may well be able to find you a better deal than you expect. If you are selling, watch out for agents who are over-valuing just to get your business! Find an agent who has a deep knowledge of the local area and trust their judgement on price. If you want a smooth sale, now is not the time to over-inflate your price.
