In the Old Testament, approaching God meant making a long journey to a physical Temple with a physical sacrifice. But under the New Covenant, Jesus flipped the script from the inside out. He became the ultimate Temple, our High Priest, and the final sacrifice, transforming us into a royal priesthood called to offer up spiritual sacrifices.
In this episode, we dive deep into the mechanics of the Peace Offering—the unique, voluntary family feast celebrating thanksgiving, vows, and fellowship. While the sin offering dealt with guilt, the peace offering was all about enjoying harmony with God. However, scripture warns us that you cannot sweet-talk God. From King David's costly sacrifice to the warnings in Amos, we explore why the attitude of the worshipper matters far more than the action. Discover how to move past insincere, "caught-in-the-act" religion and step into true, authentic fellowship at the table of the Lord.
