Canvas is People Becoming the Church— we want those who don’t know Jesus to discover Him and those who do know Him to grow in becoming more like Him. Together, we seek to worship God, grow in faith, connect in community, serve our world, and share the gospel. We believe that Jesus is the eternal difference-maker. He is the giver of life, the healer of brokenness, and the lover of every soul. Our lives, like a canvas, can get pretty messy. God wants to take our mess and turn it into a masterpiece.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT

Episode 4: Visible Faith | Part 4 | Show Me Your Faith
James confronts the idea that someone can claim to have faith while their life providesno evidence of it. Faith is more than a statement of belief—it should produce action.Using the examples of caring for those in need and the faith of Abraham and Rahab,James shows that faith and works are not competing ideas; works reveal that faith isalive. The message should challenge us to examine whether our faith can actually beseen in the way we live and remind us that real faith works.

Episode 3: Visible Faith | Part 3 | Everybody's Somebody
Faith becomes visible in the way we treat people, and James confronts one of theclearest contradictions to a life of faith: favoritism. He pictures a church that honors thewealthy while dishonoring the poor and exposes the inconsistency of showing partialitywhile claiming to follow Jesus. The “royal law” to love our neighbor as ourselves leavesno room for selective love. The message should challenge us to examine the ways wevalue people based on appearance, status, wealth, or what they can offer us, andremind us that in the kingdom of God, everybody’s somebody.

Episode 2: Visible Faith | Part 2 | Look In the Mirror
James challenges us to examine whether our faith is actually shaping the way we live.He begins with the posture of a believer—being quick to listen, slow to speak, andslow to become angry—then turns to the Word, warning us not to confuse hearing itwith obeying it. Like someone who looks in a mirror and walks away unchanged, wecan deceive ourselves if Scripture informs us without transforming us. James closes bygiving visible expressions of genuine faith: controlling our speech, caring for those inneed, and pursuing a life unstained by the world. The message should challenge us tomove beyond hearing God's Word to actually doing what it says.
