“Because everything worth feeling lives in the in-between.”
A podcast for curious minds and open hearts navigating the gray areas of life. Each episode dives into the beautifully awkward, hilariously real, and surprisingly hopeful parts of being human — where growth and uncertainty coexist.
This week, we’re talking about all the transitions that come with trying to figure out what’s next — career changes, relationships, family dynamics, and the weird in-between stages where you’re not totally sure if you’re making the right choice. We get into how our perspectives change as life changes, why making big decisions can feel so overwhelming, and, naturally, how our absolutely terrible FOMO makes all of it even harder.
We also get into teaching, technology, and the challenge of supporting different learning needs without losing sight of real-life skills, independence, and self-regulation. Basically, it’s a little bit of career crises, a little bit of education, a lot of FOMO, and everything in between.

Working Hard or Hardly Regulating
From customer service and lifeguarding to working as a para, we’re talking about the jobs that build character (and occasionally test every ounce of patience you have). We get into the lessons you learn from working with people, the emotional weight that comes with helping professions, and why some jobs stay with you long after you leave them.
Then, naturally, we take a few turns—talking about emotional regulation, why adults don’t always have to model “perfect” reactions, and the importance of repair when things don’t go as planned. We wrap things up with a conversation about fluency and stuttering, the counseling side of being an SLP, and how much we still have to learn. Basically: work stories, feelings, speech therapy, and everything in between.

Camping, Cocktails & Contradictions
This week, we’re covering a little bit of everything—as usual. We’re talking outdoor activities, our very different relationships with lawn care and camping, Kailee’s stay at Bolt Farm in Tennessee, and why the people you meet while traveling can completely make the experience.
Then, naturally, we spiral into bar etiquette, splitting the bill, phone habits, family dynamics, health concerns, and a handful of things Jenn and Kailee absolutely do NOT agree on. From wholesome Tennessee hospitality to questionable personal habits, somehow it all connects… or at least it did in our heads.
Another week of big opinions, unnecessary tangents, and figuring it all out somewhere in the in-between.

Influenced, Overpriced & Underdiagnosed
This week, we’re covering a little bit of everything—as usual. We’re talking life in Milford, apartment living vs. city life, and the minor problem of wanting to buy a house in a housing market that feels completely impossible.
Then, naturally, we get into AI, whether it’s coming for all of our jobs, and the love/hate relationship we have with social media. From influencing what we wear and buy to parenting advice, misinformation, and the constant feeling that everyone on the internet somehow knows what they’re doing better than you do.
We also get into navigating healthcare, some less-than-great experiences with doctors, and why advocating for yourself can feel way harder than it should.
Basically, we’re talking AI, influencers, healthcare, housing, relationships, and everything else we’re currently trying to figure out. Because apparently one topic per episode has never been our thing.

Dorm Rooms & Glory Days
Mondays are hard, dropping your kid off at college is harder, and somehow that sends us straight down memory lane. This week, Jenn is officially entering her college-mom era, which has us reminiscing about our own college days—from roommates and college sports to figuring out how to live with other humans and, eventually, become semi-functioning adults.
We’re talking about the friendships, chaos, independence, and questionable problem-solving skills that come with college, plus what it’s like watching your kids step into a whole new chapter of their lives. Somewhere along the way, we get into parenting, letting go, embracing change, and learning to trust the process… even when you’d really rather control it.

Hangovers, Bad Habits & Big Feelings
This week, we’re truly all over the place — in the best way. We’re recapping our weekends, questioning why hangovers hit so much harder these days, and somehow getting into cigarettes and the fact that people are apparently smoking again?!
Then, naturally, we shift gears into work, kids, and all the feelings. We’re talking about finding the balance between being fun and holding boundaries in therapy, what kids’ behavior is actually communicating, emotional regulation, sensory sensitivities, and how our own childhood experiences shape the way we look at kids today. Plus, we get into learning differences, the mental load of constantly consuming bad news, and probably a few other side quests along the way.
Basically: hangovers, cigarettes, big feelings, and absolutely no linear train of thought. Just another week of Perfectly Uncertain.

Bras, Billing & Being a Decent Human
This week, we're covering the important things in life: changes happening in the SLP world, Jenn's need for a better bra, the absolute nightmare that is dealing with insurance, and why being rude to strangers might be one of the biggest red flags of all. We get into the news out of Illinois about SLPs diagnosing autism, what it's actually like dealing with insurance as providers, and somehow end up exactly where you'd expect us to—talking about Jenn's perception of her boobs on camera. Another perfectly uncertain conversation that goes a little bit everywhere.

Raising Kids (and Raising Clinicians)
This week, we're talking about what it really means to let people learn—even when it's hard to step back. From supervising graduate students and clinical fellows to raising independent kids, we dive into the messy middle of mentorship, parenting, work ethic, and emotional regulation. Along the way, we chat about first placements, private practice, assumptions, playtime, speech development, and why sometimes the best thing you can do is let someone figure it out for themselves. As always, it's part professional, part personal, and completely perfectly uncertain.
