Scripture Readings: 2 Timothy 1:1-7 |
Feeling discouraged in your faith is more common than you might think, and you are not alone. The Apostle Paul wrote to a young leader named Timothy who was facing exactly that kind of season, surrounded by people who had drifted away and a culture growing hostile to Christianity. Paul pointed Timothy back to the sincere, genuine faith he had witnessed in his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice, women who modeled authentic trust in God through everyday life. He urged Timothy to rekindle the gift of God within him, reminding him that the Holy Spirit living inside him is a Spirit of power, love, and self-discipline, not fear. Faith was never meant to be lived in isolation. Just as a single ember burns out alone but ignites into flame when surrounded by others, our faith grows when we stay connected to a community of believers. The path forward is the same for us as it was for Timothy: return to sincere faith, lean into relationships, and trust that the Holy Spirit within you is greater than any discouragement you face.|

Scripture Readings: John 3:1-17 |
Nicodemus was a powerful, educated Pharisee who came to Jesus in the night, full of questions he could not fully articulate. Jesus met him with one of the most profound truths in all of Scripture: that new life comes not through status or knowledge, but through being born of the Spirit. Just as the people in the wilderness looked to the bronze serpent for healing, we are called to look to Jesus as the source of our redemption and new life. The story of Nicodemus reminds us that faith is not about having all the answers. It is about continuing to come to Jesus, trusting that the Spirit is at work even when we cannot see or explain it. God did not send His Son to condemn the world, but to save it. That invitation remains open to every seeker, no matter how many questions they carry.|

Scripture Readings: 1 Samuel 1:1-20 |
Hannah's story in 1 Samuel is one of the most honest portrayals of faith under pressure in all of Scripture. Living with the pain of childlessness and the daily mockery of Peninnah, Hannah had every reason to turn away from God. Instead, she ran toward Him, pouring out her heart in fervent, silent prayer at the shrine in Shiloh. God heard her cry, and in due time, she conceived and gave birth to Samuel, one of Israel's greatest prophets. Before she even received her answer, Hannah found peace, a peace that came not from her circumstances changing but from trusting the God who hears. Her story reminds us that our pain is not a sign of God's judgment. It is an invitation to draw near to the One who sees, hears, and acts on our behalf.|
