The Apostles Attitude to Adversity
Bible Reading: Acts 28:1-15 "Acts 28:15 KJV And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage." 1. Paul thanked God for his faithfulness. 2. Paul thanked God for his fellowship. This sermon explores the Apostle Paul's response to adversity as recorded in Acts 28, highlighting his gratitude for God's faithfulness and his courage for the future. The central message emphasizes that believers should look back with thankfulness for God's preservation through storms, suffering, and persecution, while looking forward with confidence in His unchanging nature. Key themes include the importance of Christian fellowship, illustrated by the unity of believers and the necessity of not forsaking the assembly, and the assurance of a glorious eternal hope despite present trials. The tone is pastoral and encouraging, urging the congregation to trust in God's hand during life's difficulties and to find strength in the community of faith. By examining Paul's journey from shipwreck to healing and fellowship, the sermon affirms that God remains a present help in times of trouble, offering both comfort and conviction to persevere.
