I Lost Myself in Motherhood — But God Used It to Bring Me Back to Him | Matrescence
Motherhood changes you.But nobody really talks about just HOW much.In this video, I’m talking about the transitions of motherhood that I wish someone had warned me about especially the identity shift that can happen when you become a mom.There were seasons when I genuinely wondered, “Who am I now?”I was learning how to care for my children while simultaneously trying to figure out what happened to the woman I was before motherhood. And for a long time, I didn’t have language for what I was experiencing.Then I learned about matrescence, the physical, emotional, psychological, and identity transformation that happens as a woman becomes a mother.And suddenly, so much of what I had experienced made sense.In this video, I share some of my own struggles with motherhood, identity, and feeling like I was becoming someone new. If you want to be humbled. Read the book of Job. I didn't realize how much I was "playing" God in my own life. God is in charge and in full control of everything and i'm learning to humble myself before him and stop trying to be in control of everything.
