Jay and Nicky Turner - powered by Laguna Pest Control
Back by popular demand, we sit down face-to-face with the one and only Gary Journeaux from Commercial Pest Services — and this episode delivers big laughs, big insights, and some seriously inspiring business talk.
Commercial Pest Services has quietly become a powerhouse in the Australian pest industry, standing tall as the only independently Australian-owned pest and hygiene company with full-time employees in every capital city across the country. That’s right — no franchises, no overseas ownership, just pure Aussie grit taking on the “big boys” head first.
Gary opens up about the relentless drive, sacrifices, and determination it took to build the business organically from the ground up. No shortcuts. No overnight success. Just years of hard work, smart decisions, and staying true to their people and culture.
But this episode isn’t all business. We also share plenty of laughs as Gary literally “spills the beans” on what really sets Commercial Pest Services apart from the corporate giants — from customer relationships and company culture to leadership, innovation, and why being independently owned still matters in today’s market.
If you’re in business, pest control, or just love hearing authentic stories from people who’ve built something incredible the hard way, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.
