<p>2月14日はバレンタイン・デー。キリスト教の聖人、聖バレンタイン（バレンチノ）の記念日です。恋人たちの守護聖人であるバレンタインにちなみ、今回はキューピッドが登場するバレエ≪ドン・キホーテ≫より、ドゥルシネア姫のヴァリエーションを取り上げます。作曲は、≪海賊≫や≪アレルキナーダ≫の音楽でもおなじみのイタリア人作曲家、リッカルド・ドリゴです。</p>
