This week we look at Malachi 3:13-4:6, the final words of the Old Testament. God has one last word against his people, "Your words have been hard against me?" And the reply from the people is, "How have we spoken against you?" They're drowning in sin and unbelief. But there is a remnant in Judea that are faithful to God. God explains in chapter 4 how when the Day of the Lord comes it will mean rejoicing for those faithful, but it will be a terrible day for those who have chosen unbelief.

Malachi 3: The Tithe
Each week we've been looking at the disputes between God and his people in the book of Malachi. God proclaims his love for them and they question it. God calls them out on their sin and they protest it. The people aren't receiving God's blessing because of their sin, but they don't see it that way. And they're questioning God's justice because of their lack of blessing and the seeming prosperity of the nations around them. So in answer to this, God points out another specific reason why they haven't received his blessing.

And that's God's whole issue in chapter 2 is their faithlessness and how that faithlessness expresses itself in their lives.
