[…] We had a spectacular summer. That's no secret. It's been talked about on many podcasts beyond Picture This. But we're looking at $3.8 billion spent at the movies this summer. Franchises are actually still 60% of all ticket sales. Non-franchise properties are 40%. If you go for stuff that also includes IP, that's not necessarily a franchise, which is something that was known in culture before it became a movie, that's 68% of ticket sales. And originals, purely originals, are 32%. which actually feels quite high. I was going to say it sounds pretty good to me. Compared to the last 20 years, it sounds remarkable. […]
