Get your hyperdrives ready -- Pilot Program is officially talking about Star Wars. Specifically, the highly-critically-acclaimed Andor. What's different about a pilot made exclusively for a streaming service? And how do you balance being faithful to Star Wars lore while also freeing yourself up to tell a new and interesting story?
Editor's note: As of this recording, the Disney+ streaming service is currently part of a boycott from the BDS Movement for Disney's ongoing support for Israel. We understand that everyone has their own personal lines of where they stand or what they're willing to do, but we encourage our listeners who want to watch this episode to through the Andor Season 1 DVD or other means.

Episode 50 - Dragon Ball (1986)
Episode 50! We made it. And to celebrate, we're watching a key pillar in anime -- 1986's Dragon Ball. Though made in the '80s, most American viewers probably wouldn't have seen it until the early 2000s after the end of the massively popular sequel series Dragon Ball Z. Akira Toriyama's original work is a little bit different than what the franchise would go on to be known for, but it's an interesting case study into anime, Japanese gag manga, western cartoon influences and more.

There's something about The Mary Tyler Moore Show -- a '70s classic of a girl just trying to "make it on her own" in a new city. Chase and Pierce dig into this cornerstone of sitcom television, including its iconic opening, feminist themes and lasting legacy.
