About Pipe and Slipmats: The podcast for ageing ravers
The podcast for those with one foot in the rave.
If you love dance music and electronica but feel like you're too old for clubbing (honestly though, you're not), let Scott Manson, James Kirkham and Tunde Babalola take you on a music and memories tour of acid house, rave and club culture.
Featuring interviews with dance music legends, amusing tales of excess and way too much fanboy talk about Sasha – plus huge tunes from the rave archives – this is a nostalgic journey through one of clubland's most exciting eras.
Old school house, clubland classics and hazy nightlife memories from a trio of dance music experts

9: Pipe and Slipmats: Live on Loose FM (December 2025)
Those lovely folk at LooseFM (https://www.loose.fm) hosted our first live two hour Pipe and Slipmats radio show, bringing you brilliant old school club tunes and stories of nightlife high jinks in. real time – all broadcast from a studio located at Design District London on the Greenwich Peninsula. The Loose mission is to represent "the eclectic, the experimental and the ecstatic" – and our latest show certainly does that. Listen up for tunes from Leftfield, 2 Bad Mice, Acen and more – plus an absolute banger from the Stress records label.
Update: LooseFM loved the show so much they've invited us back for a monthly session from January 2026. So regular listeners who are used to our incredibly infrequent release schedule will be hearing a lot more of the P&S trio in the oh six.

HUGE NEWS: Pipe and Slipmats – the radio show – will be broadcasting live on Loose FM (https://www.loose.fm/) on Thursday November 20, from 11am-1pm (UK time).

It’s been a minute but we’re back once again (yes, like the renegade master) with some brilliant clubland memories and big tunes from the nightlife archives. Will Tunde like any of the music this time? Will James be able to hold back from turning fond clubland memories into academic-style discussions about youth subcultures – and will Scott be able to go through an entire episode without mentioning DJ Sasha? Discover the answers to these questions – together with top tracks from Steve Hurley, Farley & Heller, T-Coy and many more – in the latest episode of Pipe and Slipmats.
Note to listeners: we’d really intended to get this one released prior to our summer 2025 Ibiza trip. Sadly we didn’t, so please ignore our well-intentioned invite to come party with us on the White Isle. We’ll be back there in 2026 though, so watch this space for details.
