Nick always had a lot of things on his mind but rarely had anyone to share them with. That's why he has a podcast. He grew up watching cartoons, tv, and movies in the late 2000s, 2010s and has a special place in his heart for all things 90s and the golden age of cartoons which sparked his love for film in general. "Let's Discuss!" is a show where he analyzes his favorite shows/movies, talks about whatever is on his mind, and gives listeners funny content with what's going on in pop culture and the internet in the "Gossip Session" episodes. Nick Marshall is pop culture and wants you to know it.
For years, we known her as the sarcastic street tough Sam Puckett on iCarly and Sam and Cat. However, behind the scenes she was going through the worst times of her life. In 2022 Jennette McCurdy released her memoir "I'm Glad My Mom Died" and gave us an insight into her life growing up in the public eye but more specifically on her relationship with her mother. The title caused some controversy because of the belief of never saying anything bad about our parents. Jennette's mother was hardly a good mother or person, but Jennette did a great job of writing her with some nuance and understanding while not invalidating herself in the process. This episode has been long in the making, so I want to take you on a deep dive into the life of Jennette McCurdy while also discussing the effects of being a child star.

Growing Up on Screen: The Disney and Nickelodeon Experience
For Millennials and Gen z growing up, being on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon was one of the ultimate dreams because of the illusion of child stardom sold to us. The networks have shaped our childhoods and created iconic shows that will make future generations jealous. However, these last few years have made me realize how different the stars that came from the networks are with some having more long-standing success, some short lived, and some who have quit the industry all together or had public breakdowns. All of this is a result of being a kid growing up in front of the entire world. Let's Discuss!
