Passage: Proverbs 14:14 (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs+14%3A14&version=KJV)
-------------------
A Christian be faithful to church, read the Bible regularly, and still be a backslider. Backsliding begins in the heart, often long before anyone notices a change in our actions.
If we are not continually pressing forward in our Christian walk and relationship with God, we start to backslide. When our faith, love, or desire to obey God begins to decline, we allow our own priorities and desires to take precedence over His Word.
Proverbs 14:14 warns of the consequences of following our own ways, but God also provides a way to restore our fellowship with Him. Through confession, repentance, and renewed obedience, believers can return to the Lord and experience the joy of walking with Him.
Are you continuing to grow in your relationship with Christ, or have you allowed something to hinder your walk with Him?

Passage: Matthew 16:21-27 (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+16%3A21-27&version=KJV)
-------------------
What has first place in your life when your plans, feelings, and desires conflict with what God has said? Jesus set the example by making His Father’s will His priority, even when obedience meant suffering and death on the cross.
Peter loved Jesus, but his own reasoning led him to resist the very plan God had already revealed. Following Christ requires us to deny ourselves, trust what God has said in His Word, and refuse to let our own desires pull us away from His will.
Our priorities should reflect an eternal perspective rather than a focus on what we want from life right now. God’s will must take first place if we want to follow Him faithfully and fulfill His purpose for our lives.

What should serving God actually look like in the life of a Christian? Jesus gave us a pattern to follow through His own life and ministry. He made gathering with God’s people a priority, preached the gospel to those who needed Christ, and served in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We have that same responsibility to take the gospel to others and depend on the Holy Spirit as we do God’s work. Our opportunity to serve and tell others about Christ will not last forever, so we need to use the time God has given us.
Following Christ’s example gives us a clear pattern for how to serve God and reach others with the gospel.
