O.W. Root lives in Northern Michigan and writes about life, style and culture. The 24/7 news cycle is pointlessly addicting and shallow. Where life lives is in the crooks and crannies, the cracks and the corners. It's about what we eat, what we wear and what entertains us. This show is about deep culture, stories that make life worth living, not clickbait.

Plus, O.W. takes us to the dustiest place in the State of Michigan, Bois Blanc Island, with thoughts on why camping trips are usually more memorable than others.

Episode 94 - Beater Culture Revisited
What ever happened to “Beater Culture?” You don’t get a new car every two years, you’ve had the same one for two, maybe three decades and you’re proud of it. You’ve fixed it. Plus, normally the trolls are below the bridge (Yooper joke), but O.W. shows us a giant one in the U.P., which raises some interesting questions about what public art is, and how it should be deployed in nature.
