The Curious Case of Hollywood - Ageism, Pedophilia, and the real reason we’re afraid of getting old
Why do we feel “too old” by 27? Why does Hollywood worship youth — and discard adults? In this episode, I connect personal experiences with cultural patterns to unpack how Hollywood, media, and capitalism turned youth into currency and aging into a fear response. We talk ageism, child stardom, over-sexualization, power imbalances, and why “making it early” became the lie we all internalized. This isn’t gossip. It’s pattern recognition. If you’ve ever felt behind, late, disposable, or afraid of starting over — this episode will hit. Age was never the enemy. The system that taught us to fear it was. 🎧 Listen with an open mind. ⚠️ Content warning: discussions of ageism, exploitation, and child abuse themes.

About nervous system regulation...
In this solo episode of PLEASE DON’T TELL ME THE TRUTH, I share a spontaneous reflection on something most high-performers overlook when trying to level up: nervous system regulation. We often think the solution to growth is simple — work harder, push more, try another system. But what if the real key to changing your life isn’t more effort… it’s feeling safe while you evolve? I break down the connection between manifestation, emotional regulation, and performance, and why your brain sometimes resists the very things you say you want. In this episode, we talk about: • Why “manifestation” gets misunderstood in the online world• How the algorithm and extreme content shape our beliefs• The real role of thoughts vs. action• Why nervous system regulation is essential for growth• The difference between meditation, breathwork, and somatic regulation• Why you must feel safe receiving the life you're building Dalma also shares the simple tools she uses daily — including journaling, breathwork, visualization, and self-awareness practices — to regulate her nervous system while pursuing bigger goals. If you're someone who is actively working on yourself, trying to level up, or navigating personal growth while building your life and career, this episode will give you a grounded perspective. And if you enjoyed this short reflection, make sure to check out The Saturday Call, the new long-form segment of the podcast featuring Dalma and her best friend Gladys, PhD in Political Science, where they dive deeper into relationships, culture, and personal evolution. Follow PLEASE DON’T TELL ME THE TRUTH on Spotify and Apple Podcasts so you never miss an episode. And as always… Go tell the truth out there!

the aftertaste of denial once the fruit has lost its sweetness
Co-dependency isn’t just romantic — it shows up at work, in friendships, and in family patterns we never questioned because they felt familiar. In this episode, I break down quick ways to spot co-dependent dynamics you might not even realize you’re in, and the real-life tools and mental rewires I’ve been using to step back into the driver’s seat. If it hits, share it. If it stings, listen twice. Either way… go tell the truth out there. Follow, rate & review. Tag me in your IG stories: @dalmadanielaa ✨ I believe in you.

In the middle of AI (Do this so AI can never replace you)
Everyone either loves AI or hates it—there's no middle ground. But I'm stuck in the middle, watching my best friends take completely opposite sides. One just won a $25K Next.js hackathon and taught me to build my website in 2 days (saving me $10K). The other is a filmmaker who believes AI can never replicate true artistic process. In this episode, I share both of their unfiltered takes, my own experience using AI tools, and the framework I use to decide if ANY technology actually adds value to my life. Spoiler: this debate mirrors what happened with social media in the 2010s—and the answer isn't about picking a side. It's about asking better questions. Is Bad Bunny American? The Super Bowl Controversy Everyone's Getting Wrong
"Half" the internet is mad that Bad Bunny is performing at the Super Bowl—but most don't know Puerto Ricans have been U.S. citizens since 1917. In this episode, I break down the actual history, answer the questions no one else is asking with real data, and explain what this controversy really reveals about American identity. Why is Turning Point USA so triggered? What don't people know about the Jones-Shafroth Act? And why does Spanish at halftime have MAGA so scared? This isn't about football—it's about fear, facts, and who gets to be "American enough." Hit play for the data-driven truth some people don't want to hear. PS. Enjoy the AI images, I know the right loves those! #BadBunny #SuperBowl #PuertoRico #TurningPointUSA #NFL #HalftimeShow

Cracks in Your Foundation: When Your Job, Relationship, or Life Feels Unsafe
Have you felt something cracking in your life? Sometimes the foundations we build on - jobs, relationships, friendships, dreams - aren't as solid as we thought. And the cracks... the cracks were there all along. In this episode, I talk about: How to recognize when ANY foundation is failing (work, love, family) Why we keep building on unstable ground The difference between "fixing" and rebuilding from scratch Signs it's time to change your foundation entirely Why cracks don't mean you're broken If you've been holding up something that feels unsafe - whether it's a toxic job, unhealthy relationship, or draining friendship - this episode is for you. Adult Friendships: Why Making Friends Gets Harder
Making friends as an adult feels harder than it used to. When I first moved to LA in 2021, co-living made connection easy. But as life settled, marriage and old feelings of otredad returned, and friendship required more patience and vulnerability. Because yes, adult friendships are messy, slower, and intentional — and that’s the truth we don’t always want to hear. Please follow and rate this podcast. It really helps!
Please follow and rate this show on Spotify. It really helps! Ni de Aquí, Ni de Allá (Not From Here, Nor There)
In this episode, I get candid about my identity crisis. Because being an immigrant means living between two worlds. Here, I share what it was like growing up in Barranquilla as “the odd one out,” the vindication I felt when I first arrived in the U.S., and how my long immigration process slowly stripped away that initial certainty. From endless paperwork to proving myself again and again, I realized belonging here always came with conditions. Still, I’ve learned to see ni de aquí ni de allá not as a wound, but as a bridge — one that lets me exist across cultures and languages. Because yes, being in-between can feel lonely… and that’s the truth we don’t always want to hear. If you've lived between two worlds, this episode sees you. Please follow and rate this podcast. The Weight We Carry Alone (especially as women)
We talk about invisible responsibilities — the weight you carry that no one sees, and how it shapes your identity until you start confusing it with who you are. el día que me dijeron fea y me lo creí
Send us a text (https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2527368/open_sms) We’ve all held ourselves back because we didn’t want to look “cringe.” But what if cringe culture isn’t about us at all — what if it’s society’s way of controlling expression and keeping us small? In this pilot episode, I share my own stories of being called “cringe” and how those moments shaped me as an artist, creator, and immigrant who built a life against the odds. From Colombian X Factor to Los Angeles, this is a raw reminder that every breakthrough looked cringe to someone at the beginning. And that’s the truth we don’t always want to hear.
