Pleasure and Power Recoded

About Pleasure and Power Recoded

The goal is simple — to help our world positively recode pleasure and rewire power. Coaches Elizabeth Gilmour and Lucy Hutchings Hunt do this by bringing you powerful, stimulating, and authentic conversations from conscious global voices who are redefining what it means to live, lead, and love with intention. Elizabeth and Lucy are on a mission to help you reconnect with your joy, reclaim your divine truth, and rise in a world that, traditionally shames pleasure and distorts power. This podcast isn’t just about talk - it’s part of a practical, applicable revolution. One in which we're leading the conversation and giving you permission to embody pleasure as a life force, and power as something rooted in spirit, not control.

The Juice of Life: Reclaiming Sexual Energy as Creative Power | Pleasure & Power Recoded

In this episode of Pleasure & Power Recoded, Lucy and Elizabeth record from a magical riverside clearing in Scotland, surrounded by sunlight, mossy grass, flowing water and the wild beauty of nature. Together, they explore sexual energy not as something purely physical, but as life force, creative power and the “juice” that makes life feel vivid, delicious and fully alive. Through stories of ripe fruit, classical music, tomato plants, art, embodiment, shame, religion, power, politics and personal transformation, they open up a rich conversation about what happens when we become disconnected from our own natural energy, and what becomes possible when we gently reclaim it. This is a grounded, soulful conversation about pleasure as presence, power as embodiment, and a tantric way of being in the world: one that invites us to feel more deeply, live more honestly, open with discernment, and allow our creative life force to move through every part of our lives. Lucy and Elizabeth also touch on Daoist ideas of essence, energy and spirit, exploring how simple embodiment practices, presence, sensation and self-trust can help us reconnect with our aliveness in a way that feels safe, natural and real. They also speak about shame, safety, self-trust, ageing, midlife power, feminine energy, masculine energy, and the importance of coming back into the body through simple sensory practices: feeling the grass, tasting food, walking in nature, breathing, touching, noticing and receiving. This episode is an invitation to stop living like a tasteless supermarket tomato and begin reconnecting with the wild, sun-warmed, fully embodied aliveness that has always been within you. From Self-Doubt to Turn-On: Rewiring the Nervous System for Pleasure | Pleasure & Power Recoded Episode 9

In this intimate, fireside episode of *Pleasure & Power Recoded*, Lucy Hutchings Hunt interviews Elizabeth Gilmour about what it *really* took to reclaim her sensuality, sexuality, and life force in midlife. Liz shares how she moved from living in her head (achievement, perfectionism, fear, self-doubt) to living in her body, where pleasure becomes presence, power, and spiritual connection. Together, Lucy and Liz explore why “just think positive” doesn’t work when your nervous system feels unsafe, and why learning to meet emotion (instead of suppressing it) is the doorway back to joy, desire, and aliveness. Liz speaks candidly about leaving a high-achieving legal career path as a corporate solicitor, confronting shame and shadow patterns, the catalyst of divorce, and the somatic practices that helped her shift out of overwhelm and into clarity, confidence, and turn-on. You’ll also hear simple frameworks you can use in real life, including her “reverse → neutral → forward” method for emotional states and decision-making, and a powerful process for moving stuck energy through the body (anger → sadness → turn-on). This episode is for you if you want more freedom in your body, more truth in your relationships, and a grounded way to transform emotional intensity into pleasure, self-trust, and momentum. **Let’s stay connected:** If this episode stirred something in you, we’d love to meet you. Pleasure & Power Recoded | Embodied Sensuality: Pleasure, Spirit & Self-Sourced Power

In this intimate and expansive episode of Pleasure & Power Recoded, Lucy Hutchings Hunt and Elizabeth Gilmour explore what it truly means to reclaim sensuality, sexuality, and life force after leaving marriage and long-held conditioning behind. Lucy shares her deeply personal journey of healing shame, disordered eating, and inherited narratives about women’s bodies, sex, and worth. Together, Lucy and Liz unpack embodiment not as performance or appearance, but as presence, aliveness, and a lived connection to the body as sacred. Drawing on a tantric way of being, they explore sexuality as energy, devotion, and conscious connection, rather than something rushed, transactional, or goal-driven. This conversation reframes sex and sensuality as a slow, intentional, soul-infused experience, where pleasure is self-sourced, the nervous system feels safe, and spirit is allowed to flow through the body. They reflect on how living in this turned-on state dramatically transforms relationships, creativity, confidence, and power. This episode is an invitation to soften, expand, and remember that pleasure is not something to earn. It is a birthright, and a way of living.

Pleasure & Power Recoded | When the Dark Night Becomes the Doorway to Your Mission

In this episode of Pleasure & Power Recoded, Lucy and Liz explore what it really means to live with 'mission' at the core of your very being: that deep inner sense that you are here to do something bigger, even if the details are still blurred. Through honest stories of dark nights of the soul, addiction, depression, career changes, divorce, money fears and spiritual awakening, they show how pain can be alchemised into purpose. They talk about why you must learn to lead yourself before you can genuinely lead others, and how the right coach–client relationship is a kind of energetic chemistry rather than a top down guru model. They unpack the shift from chasing external validation, status and credentials to becoming self sourced, rooted in your own connection to the divine. The conversation also touches on how AI and tech are stripping away bureaucracy so we can go deeper into spiritual and creative work, why no part of the journey is truly a mistake, and how judgment of others is often a mirror of self judgment. At its heart, this episode is an invitation to trust your inner call, soften towards yourself, and allow pleasure, purpose and embodied power to guide the way.
