1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. 3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. 4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. 5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. 6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.

Your Heart is Always Hunting Happiness
(AI Generated Summary) The sermon explores the biblical concept of the heart as the center of human desire and will, emphasizing that all people possess an innate longing for happiness that worldly pursuits cannot satisfy. Drawing on C.S. Lewis and Augustine, it argues that this unquenchable thirst points to a spiritual reality beyond this world, designed by God to be fulfilled only in Him. The preacher contrasts the futile chase for temporal pleasure with the example of Jesus and Moses, who endured suffering for the greater joy found in God's kingdom. By examining Hebrews 12 and Hebrews 11, the message illustrates that true happiness is achieved when one aligns their heart's pursuit with God's will rather than selfish desires. Ultimately, the gospel is presented as the good news that reconciles believers to God, offering the only source of lasting satisfaction and joy.

Principles of Liberty Romans 14:6-9
Liberties are freedoms to be used for God's glory – not to be abused for our pleasure. "All things are lawful to me!" Is the bumper sticker on the back of a selfish Christian's car. Once you know that you have liberties Satan will attempt to get you to exercise your liberties to the detriment of your weaker brother.
