Conceptually, visually, and thematically, it feels dated: big ideas presented with old instincts, familiar government paranoia, and a sense of wonder that never quite breaks through the dust. Tommy and DL both wanted to like it, but came away feeling like Spielberg was reaching for classic awe and accidentally found yesterday’s PowerPoint. It’s polished, serious, and strangely behind the times.
