I would request that they be cool about it … if I were you. It’s the subjunctive mood! A song inspired by a line in a detective novel! That’s what we like. Oh, but don’t worry. This episode quickly veers off-course from grammar to existential blip-blap—but with plenty of examples of the subjunctive mood dangling like chandelier earrings along the way! It’s any excuse for a song ‘round here, and proof that inspiration can come from the darnedest places—and that your host will find a way to talk about whatever she wants.
