18. I Bet Myself that I'd have my first £10k Quarter (here's the plan)
Yesterday I posted an accountability reel and publicly bet on myself to have a £10k quarter by 31st December 2026. So this episode is me mapping out what that actually looks like in real time, because full transparency, I posted that reel scared and before I had the whole plan figured out. I also talk about why I chose an income goal instead of a follower goal (10k followers doesn't pay your bills), and the uncomfortable truth that money has always been a taboo subject for me, which is exactly why this challenge needed to be built around it. This is my first accountability goal and I'm nervous, but also super excited to watch this unfold. I hope this inspires you to also push yourself to a Q4 Challenge. If you want to watch the reel, you can find it HERE. 17. How I'm navigating PMDD in my 40's and still figuring it out!
This podcast episode is a personal one, where I open up about my PMDD journey. I don't have an official diagnosis yet. I'm tracking my symptoms over four months to take to my GP, so this is me sharing while I'm still in it. I talk about what PMDD actually is, how my best friend Alyah was the one who spotted the pattern in me, and how, looking back, I think I've been navigating this blindly for years - mislabelling it as just being "too sensitive," even having it dismissed by people who could've been more supportive. I also get honest about how it's affecting my life, my job and my business right now, and why I'm finally giving myself grace instead of grinding through it. Heads up: this episode touches on low mood and my past experience with depression. If you're not in the headspace for that today, go easy on yourself and come back to it another time. But if any of this sounds familiar, please know it might be your body trying to tell you something. The only thing I'm asking today: follow the podcast. It genuinely helps my reach and helps other women find these conversations. 🤍 MENTIONS / LINKS: Alyah - Soulful Retreats: https://www.instagram.com/soulfulretreats.co/ Our menstrual cycle awareness episode on the Woman Up! Do You REALLY Need a Video Podcast?
Audio-only podcasting isn't the lesser option or the least impactful - it's a deliberate choice that you need to make based on your goals. This week I'm making the full case for why it's my top recommendation, especially if you're a coach building a business alongside everything else. I get honest about what my old video podcast actually cost me - time wise. I sat down and tallied it up: getting camera-ready, travelling to the studio, downloading huge files, multi-cam editing, clips, thumbnails etc. I was shocked to see that I was spending 9 to 14 hours per episode, plus £150 minimum per session for the studio and I was doing it around a full-time job. Audio strips out the expensive, draining half of that and leaves the part that matters: your value. Consider this your permission to get that audio-only podcast out of your notes app and into the world. 15. How to Find Podcast Episode Ideas Your Audience Is Actually Searching For (Your Core Episodes!)
Last week I told you to stay curious and this week I'm showing you exactly where to point that curiosity so you're never stuck for episode ideas. By the end of this episode you'll have a system to help you get fresh podcast episode ideas straight from your actual audience. This week I delve straight into your 'core episodes: the 3–5 questions your ideal client asks over and over. I break down why specificity is super important for your podcast growth and then I walk you through my free Google search and YouTube rabbit hole trick. I also share my own core podcasting questions for my niche so you can see the exercise in action. Plus why your podcast is a nurturing tool, not just more content and how to use it to CONNECT with your ideal clients. There's homework at the end, so grab a pen. 14. What a Bad Date Taught Me About Podcasting
Okay, this is a storytime episode (with a little bit of gossip!). I recently went on a date recently - my first first date in over 10 years, but the best thing about it was that I got a podcast episode out of it. I feel a bit like Carrie Bradshaw. So what's the lesson? Stay curious! It's the one thing that made my old Woman Up interviews work. Podcasting is never about you as the host, it's about your audience. You're here to serve them, to give value and to make them want to come back for more episodes. Listen to the full episode for the tea! And don't forget that you can pick my brain for free with my Podline Bling email newsletter. Submit your episode and every week I will be in your inbox answering your questions. 13. What I Learnt from Lauren Dudley's Synced Masterclass (& how it relates to podcasting!)
This weekend I joined Synced - a masterclass hosted by Lauren Dudley. She is the woman who went from 200 Instagram followers to 76k in less than 9 months! She teaches growing a personal brand via social media and so much of what she teaches is completely transferable to podcasting and podcast growth. So I'm giving you my biggest takeaways. Here's what we get into: your podcast anchor topic and why your podcast title should do exactly what it says on the tin. Why you still need to sprinkle in your personality and find your voice. Finding synergy with your audience and showing them you're a real human on a journey, not a soulless ChatGPT robot. Cycle syncing your content creation around your energy and why that's important. And my biggest personal takeaway: building something meaningful takes time and spreading yourself too thin serves no one. I've got homework for you at the end, so grab a pen. And go follow Lauren her content is genuinely valuable: Follow Lauren on Instagram Don't forget, I also have Podline Bling - my weekly newsletter where you get to submit your questions! I Took a Month Away From My Podcast (And Here's What I Learned)
I haven't released an episode in a month. And I know that sounds wild coming from someone who preaches consistency and who is a podcast coach. But I'm back and I want to share an honest reflection on why I needed a time out. I went to Scotland and came back with a mirror held up to my life. The trip was full of adventure and possibility, but it made me realise how much was missing from my day-to-day. I was stuck in cycles I'd been ignoring, dealing with personal issues that were affecting my mental health and productivity, and pushing through anxiety instead of actually addressing it. So I did something that felt completely counterintuitive: I stepped away. No podcast, no content, no pushing through. Instead, I prioritised sorting through the stuff that was blocking me. Because without getting rid of the old patterns, you can't make space for the new. This is me choosing to heal, not quitting. I'm not back and suddenly perfect or fixed. The creative muscle needs warming up. The business side feels a bit rusty. But I'm back with more energy, more creativity and a clearer sense of what actually matters. This is the messy middle. This is real. Podline Bling is making a comeback too! Your weekly newsletter where I answer your questions. Subscribe to the podcast now so you'll be notified when it goes live. I think your real, imperfect, vulnerable voice is your competitive advantage and I explain why. AI could help you systemise, plan, and maybe brainstorm ideas. But it can't replace your authenticity. And honestly, people are tired of AI-generated content. They want you. In this episode, I'm breaking down why Jessi Jean's empire is built on vulnerability (not polish), why the podcast Movies at Grandma's House is unforgettable because it can't be replicated, and what it actually means to own your voice as a podcaster. It's time to own your stumbles, your erms, your pauses, your imperfections... that's what makes you relatable. That's what makes people want to support you. 10. Are you podcasting for business or entertainment? (and why that difference matters!)
If you're launching a podcast and you haven't asked yourself: Am I building this as a business funnel or an entertainment podcast? I'm going to explain why it's helpful to pick a lane. Both are valid, both can make money, but the paths look slightly different and, to be honest, I missed this out from last week's episode so, I'm adding it in now. In this episode, I'm breaking down the difference between the two, why it matters for your monetisation strategy and what the reality check actually looks like for each lane. If you're building a business podcast, you can monetise from day one. You don't need thousands of downloads. You just need a specific person with a specific problem who trusts you. And ideally, you already have somewhere to take them. 9. How to Launch a Podcast from Scratch (The Beginner's Guide)
If you're thinking about launching a podcast, and you've recently typed 'how to start a podcast?' in Google, you're probably wondering: where the hell do I even begin? Most people quit by episode 7. In this episode, I'm giving you the roadmap to make sure you're not one of them. I break down the exact steps: identifying your ideal podcast listener, deciding on audio only vs. video, choosing your hosting platform, nailing your podcast title for SEO, structuring your show, and launching without losing momentum. There's homework at the end, so grab a pen. The biggest permission I'm giving you? Give yourself permission to be bad for your first 50 episodes. You're a beginner. That's not a failure, that's normal. And I'm launching something new this week: Podline Bling, a weekly email newsletter where I answer one listener question each week. If you're serious about starting your first podcast, this is where personalised support lives. As mentioned, if you want to sign up to the newsletter and submit a question: CLICK HERE. 8. What I Learned at Creator Live London with Grace Beverley & Jun Yuh
Last weekend I went to Creator Live London - the first live event hosted by Jun Yuh, founder of Creator College and came back obsessed with one idea: the creators winning right now aren't doing a million things. They're solving ONE problem really well while being a whole human about it. In this episode I unpack my biggest takeaways from the day. Grace Beverley's 'solve one problem rule' and why she chooses one product, one service, one focus until she's sick of talking about it. Jun Yuh's 'you are the niche' philosophy, and my honest take on how to actually apply it without spreading yourself too thin as a female entrepreneur or content creator. The three content pillars framework (skills, passions, story) and why your podcast strategy needs all three working together. Plus the proof from my own data: why my highest-performing episode so far has nothing to do with podcast strategy at all and what that taught me about how listeners actually connect with a host. If you're a female entrepreneur or female founder trying to figure out what your podcast is really about, this one will make you stop and think. The whole thesis is simple: solve one problem, be a whole human. There's homework at the end, as usual. So, make sure you stay until then and implement. 7. The Messy Middle of Building a Business: Honest Reflections on Comparisonitis and the Long Game
I recently got a temp job and I want to talk about it because I know I'm not the only female entrepreneur having to do this in the messy middle of building something and almost nobody is talking about it. In this episode I'm being real about the part of the entrepreneurial journey that doesn't make it onto Instagram. I share why I took on a six-week temp role, the shame and fear that came with it at first and the reframe that's helped me see it as a creative safety net rather than a step backwards. I dig into the 90-day challenge culture, the 10K-months hype on Instagram and why "putting in the reps quietly" is just as valid a strategy as any loud transformation. This one's for anyone who's been quietly building something while wondering if they're behind. Spoiler: you're not! 6. Why Niching Down Will Grow Your Podcast Faster - Stop Falling into The Steven Bartlett Trap
Are you running an interview podcast because you want to "share people's stories"? You might be stuck in what I'm calling the Steven Bartlett trap and it's probably affecting your podcast growth. In this episode I explain why niching down your podcast niche is one of the best decisions you can make because you start to build authority in one specific area/niche and get laser focused on who you are serving. I learnt this the hard way and tried to grow podcasts that either weren't specific enough, or just weren't aligned with who I am. There is also homework as usual and I give you 4 podcast audits to make that will help narrow down your niche and get laser focused! In this episode: What the Steven Bartlett trap is and why so many new podcasters fall into it Why trust is built by being consistent and being YOU, not by booking new guests every week My podcasting journey and how it taught me this lesson (the long way) The three things niching down actually gives you. When interview episodes ARE the right move and the kind of guests you should be targeting. 5. Why I Gave My Podcast a Boring Name: Podcast SEO & Title Strategy
If you've given your podcast a cute, made up name you love, this episode might sting a little. My podcast has what looks like the most boring name on the planet... and I did it on purpose. This week I'm breaking down podcast SEO, why your title matters more than you think and the exact strategy I used to name Podcasting for Female Entrepreneurs. I get into what SEO actually means for podcasters, why Apple Podcasts and Spotify are search engines (not just media players) and the two jobs every podcast title needs to do. In this episode: What podcast SEO actually is and why Apple Podcasts and Spotify are search engines (not just players) Why generally people search by topic, not by brand and what that means for your podcast title The two jobs every podcast title needs to do (and why most cute names only do one) The strategy behind Podcasting for Female Entrepreneurs and why I didn't put my name on the cover art Why I let go of Her Podcasting Era as the show name (and kept it as the brand around it) The Jenna Kutcher / Goal Digger tail-end keyword strategy. When it can work for you, when it doesn't Your strategy homework: how to audit your own podcast title Mentioned in this episode: Evolving Into Her podcast by Ashley Hope The Goal Digger Podcast by Jenna Kutcher About your host: Martha Lucía is a podcast manager and coach who helps female entrepreneurs use their podcast as a funnel for their business, not just a hobby. 4. Why I Burnt it all Down at 40 and How I've Grown Since Then
This episode is a curveball. It's not about podcasting strategy, funnels, or growth. It's about me... I turned 40 last June, and the last year and a half have been a complete rebirth. Everything in my life felt like it was burning to the ground and I had to choose between picking up the rubble or walking away and starting a whole new garden. In this episode, I share what it's really been like to pivot in my 40s, why I let go of Woman UP! and rebranded the community to Her Forties Club and what I've actually learned along the way. I'll be back to strategy next week, but for now, this is a get-to-know-me episode. If it lands for you, let me know and I'll do more like this. In this episode: What I was telling myself before turning 40 (and why I wasn't being kind to myself) The hardest part about pivoting in your 40s when you've already invested years in something Why the only failure is completely quitting and what that actually means in practice The 'f*ck it and find out' career philosophy I wish I'd adopted ten years ago Why podcasting is really about owning your voice and how that became the heart of my course How being painfully shy as a child shaped my relationship with podcasting now About your host: Martha Lucía is a podcast manager and coach who helps female entrepreneurs use their podcast as a funnel for their business, not just a hobby. 3. I Coached her on How to Niche Down and Nurture her Audience (with Nyla from Deviants)
Today I have my very first coaching episode. I sat down with Nyla Khan, host of Deviants Podcast, who came to me with a question I hear a lot from podcasters: "How do I actually grow this and turn listeners into clients?" Nyla and her co-host Cole launched Deviants in December 2025. A podcast exploring what it means to be a cultural deviant and live off-script. Eight episodes in, the show is growing, the audience is engaged… but Nyla wants to know how to integrate her podcast into her wider coaching ecosystem and use it as a real marketing tool, not a separate piece of work. In this conversation, we get into podcast discoverability, niching down, the difference between an entertainment podcast and a business funnel podcast and a creative format idea that could help her hit a weekly rhythm without doubling her workload. In this episode: The foundations of podcast discoverability on Apple and Spotify (and why search position matters before you think about monetisation) How to use podcast SEO keywords inside your episode titles and show notes Why your podcast needs to fit clearly into your business ecosystem if you want it to fuel your coaching business Why you shouldn't measure podcast growth before you've hit at least 25–50 episodes The honest truth about consistency, silence and putting in the reps About Nyla: Nyla Khan is a coach who helps women rewrite the rules of intimacy and success and live more liberated, off-script lives. She co-hosts Deviants with Cole Paulson, You can find Deviants on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube. 2. How to Map Your Ideal Listener Journey (Before You Record Another Podcast Episode)
Before you record another podcast episode, I woudl encourage to dive deeper into getting to know your audience and how you can serve them, by thinking about their journey with you. In this episode, I'm sharing the framework that I recently learnt that helped me shape this show. It's called the Ideal Listener Journey, taught to me by my coach Adam, host of Podcasting Business School. I walk you through what it is, why every female entrepreneur with a podcast needs to do this and how I've built my own version: Her Podcasting Era Roadmap. I break down the four phases of my Ideal Listener and why it's important for me to understand this, so that I can create episodes that are catered specifically for them. 1. Can you actually launch, grow and monetise an audio-only podcast in 2026? (This is my Experiment!)
Welcome to episode 1 of Podcasting for Female Entrepreneurs - the podcast where I'm putting my own strategy to the test, in real time, in your ears. The big question this whole show is built around: can you launch, grow and monetise an audio-only podcast in 2026, in a world that won't stop telling you you NEED video? I personally don't think you do but I'm about to find out by doing it myself! In this opening episode, I share why I'm launching this podcast now, where my podcasting journey actually started and why audio-only is the strategy I'm testing out as a podcast manager and coach for women in business. In this episode: The central question this entire podcast is built around My full podcasting story: from A Cup of Positivitea to The Woman Up Podcast (and the burnout in between!) Why I'm using this show as a live case study for podcast launch and podcast growth The 92% audio-only stat that completely changed how I think about podcast strategy Why podcast video is an upgrade, not a starting requirement The mindset shift female entrepreneurs need around podcasting as a marketing funnel (not a hobby) About your host: Martha Lucía is a podcast manager and coach who helps female entrepreneurs use their podcast as a funnel for their business, not just a hobby. Welcome to Podcasting for Female Entrepreneurs
Welcome to Podcasting for Female Entrepreneurs, an audio-only podcast strategy show for women in business. Can you launch, grow and monetise an audio-only podcast in 2026, while everyone else insists you need video? That's exactly what I'm putting to the test! Martha is a podcast manager and coach for female entrepreneurs, helping women in business use their podcast as a funnel for their business, not just another piece of content. She challenges the assumption that podcasting requires video to work and shares the stat that changed her mind: when given the choice to watch or listen, 92% of people still choose to listen only. She also opens up about her own podcasting journey: launching her first show in 2020 with no strategy, burning out, hiring a studio she couldn't justify, never monetising, and how that experience shaped the audio-first, strategy focused approach she takes today. Podcasting for Female Entrepreneurs is a show built in public. Every podcast launch tip, growth strategy and monetisation tactic Martha teaches her clients, she's putting to the test in real time. She is reporting back on what's working, what she's tweaking and the decisions she's making along the way. If you're a female entrepreneur or woman in business thinking about launching a podcast, or you've already launched and want to scale with strategy, this is your show. The first full episode drops Tuesday 2nd June, with new episodes every Tuesday after that. Hit that follow button now so you don't miss any episode drops… or just to support a podcaster doing something different!
