About Podcasting Your Way - Podcast Tips and Creative Inspiration
Welcome to Podcasting Your Way, the space for podcasters who want to build a show that feels aligned, intentional, and creatively free. I am Darlene Victoria, your guide with more than 17 years in the podcasting world. I share simple strategies, mindset shifts, and real-life inspiration to help you create a podcast you love and one that reflects your voice instead of someone else's blueprint.
Whether you are hitting record for the first time or rekindling your spark after a creative pause, you will find encouragement, practical tips, and gentle reminders that there is no one right way to podcast. This series supports you in breaking the traditional rules you may have heard or read about, trusting the process, and having fun along the way.
43. Show Notes With Intention: What to Include, What to Skip
Do you actually need show notes? And are transcripts even worth the effort? Can you use AI to write your show notes (or rather, should you?)
I am sharing my show notes framework that I've honed over the last 18+ years in podcasting: what to include, what to skip (including my pet peeve filler phrases), and why where your show notes live may shape how you write them.
Show notes have one job: tell the listener what the episode is about. Get in, give the info, get out.
I will be talking transcripts, and why they're worth doing even when they're not perfect. Cleaned up and good enough is GOOD enough.
Plus my honest take on using AI for show notes: where it actually helps, and why it should only ever be your first pass.
Want a second set of eyes on yours? I offer show notes audits and help building AI prompts that still sound like YOU. Reach me at darlenevictoria.com.

42. Why Good Enough Should Be the Bar in Podcasting
Most people overthink, procrastinate and don't launch their podcast or episode because they're trying to make everything perfect. It needs to SOUND perfect. The cover art needs to LOOK perfect. Everything needs to be exactly RIGHT.
But here's the thing: My very first episode was recorded on a Sony PlayStation mic. My first guest episode sounded like it was recorded in a fishbowl. And yet… I still released them.
Maybe that was blind innocence.. But honestly, I'm glad I did.
What I want to share with you today, shortly and sweetly, is why
good enough should be the bar in podcasting, not perfection.
This episode is a reminder that podcasting is something you grow into.
Your voice gets clearer.
Your confidence builds.
Your process gets better.
But none of that happens if you're waiting for perfect.
