MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Police Department announced Friday that five officers were fired. Each one was involved in a traffic stop and the subsequent “excessive force” death of Tyre Nichols, according to the agency. The terminated officers were identified as Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Justin Smith.
