You are in for a real treat! Throwbacks and catchups and maybe a little mayo and mustard
The hosts of “Pool or a Pond” open with a story about a Coastal Pan event in downtown Savannah where the chef had to cook using tiny electric kitchenette burners in multiple windowless apartments, shuttling boiling water between rooms to finish potatoes, reinforcing the “cook with gas” lesson. They catch up on family milestones: Riley graduates from Elon University and is moving to Vermont with her boyfriend as he pursues a physical therapy doctorate; she’s interviewing for surgical device sales and dealing with real-life costs and a new Subaru Outback after car-plan changes. Landon, finishing freshman year, has learning challenges, and the parent uses AI tools to reformat study material; he’s becoming notably witty. Reef finishes freshman year, struggles with Spanish, and his breakup text at a party was copied by other teens. Sunny attended her first middle school dance. Sage enters the soccer transfer portal, hires an agent, and plans to commit to Fisher College in Boston while building a pressure-washing business. Coastal Pan has surged (18 May dinners vs. 6 last year), prompting hiring and mishaps, and the episode ends with White Russians, birding talk, and “Dave IT” tips like rebooting devices and scheduling iPhone texts.

Rainy-Day Ragerts, Gary Coleman, Shot to the toe, and you're to blame
During a heavy rain, the hosts joke about what they may have left outside, including an open DeWalt tool bag in the rain, and welcome listeners to season two of their podcast. They recap friends visiting from Cincinnati for an extended spring break filled with porch hangouts, cocktails, and Publix chicken wings, then tell a chaotic story of biking to Stingray’s where Casey loudly confuses comedian Gary Gulman with Gary Coleman and makes an offensive comment, prompting an awkward interaction with nearby patrons. They describe a failed attempt to record guest stories when Joey freezes on mic despite having wild material. They catch up with friend Ryan from Bluffton, note his habit of outdoing others, and contrast his $500 gift card for quick advice with Clay’s unpaid help on restaurant projects. Clay details chronic foot pain after fracturing his big toe with a falling mirror, a memorable pulled-pork stop while moving his mother-in-law, frustration with KBB triggering nonstop dealership calls while shopping for a Tahoe, and an urgent-care toe injection administered after YouTube research.

Celebrations of life, discovered lack of vehicular manhood, and teenage wisdom.
Two hosts return to recording after a technical “epic fail” with a guest, joking about firing their technical team, upgrading microphones, and celebrating that their 11 followers can now listen on major platforms including Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, and iHeartRadio. The conversation shifts to recent losses, including friends who lost their 28-year-old son, and the importance of checking in with grieving people even if they don’t respond. They share lighter funeral-related stories: one host misses a viewing, goes to the wrong cemetery funeral, then finds the right one; the other recounts a Siri text asking for “mints” that a friend misreads as “mitts,” bringing white cotton gloves to a funeral. They discuss Coastal Pan catering ramping up, hiring challenges, IT jobs helping older clients with Roku/YouTube TV, car frustrations, parenting teens, and end by urging listeners to call someone and check in.
