[…] And if we don't figure out how to deal with this kind of debt burden, then we will not have the public health workforce that we need when something breaks the next time, whether it's bird flu or hantavirus or something we haven't even thought of yet. But not investing in the infrastructure that is public health, which is our workforce, weakens our nation and is a huge mistake. And you said, you kind of got to this point a little bit already, but I just, you know, as I was reading the study, I did kind of wonder like, well, how does this compare to other workers? And, you know, you mentioned generally, you know, maybe about 17% versus 40% of the student loan debt that is out there. but it sounds like it's also an issue of the pay or compensation that people are getting when they're in the public health jobs.
