Palisade is most famous for its peaches, but there's so much more happening in this little town nestled in the Grand Valley of Colorado! Join Palisade resident Lisa McNamara as she interviews business owners, scientists, winemakers, historians, artists, and community members to hear about how they are making Palisade a great place to live and visit. Each episode will give you a deeper appreciation for this special slice of western Colorado.
Augusto Latorre, Mesa County gleaning and food systems coordinator for UpRoot Colorado, (https://www.uprootcolorado.org) joins Lisa to talk about the important role that gleaning plays in our food systems. UpRoot’s mission is to increase the nutrition security of Coloradans by harvesting and redistributing surplus, nutrient-dense foods while supporting the resilience of farmers. Learn all about it and what drew Augusto to this organization on today’s Postcard From Palisade.
