<p>Red mite is an issue most layer producers will experience at some point, and is often a problem that keeps re-occurring if not managed effectively. Normally, it’s not until the weather really starts to warm up that problems are experienced. But last November producers faced another housing order to help control the spread of avian influenza, which has meant red mite has become an issue much earlier in the season than expected and is something producers need to be mindful of.</p> <p>In this episode of the Poultry Health Focus podcast, Dave Hodson from Rosehill Poultry joins our host, Liam Doherty, to provide his advice on how to reduce the likelihood of red mite infestations, and what to do if the parasites do appear.</p>
