📖 In Philippians 3:12–21, the Apostle Paul makes it clear that he has not yet arrived at spiritual perfection. Despite his years of ministry, his remarkable experiences, and his faithful service to Christ, Paul remained focused on moving forward. He refused to become satisfied with past accomplishments or discouraged by past failures. Instead, he pressed on toward the goal of knowing Christ more fully and fulfilling the purpose God had placed before him.
One of the greatest dangers in the Christian life is complacency. Some become trapped by past successes, believing they have already done enough. Others become weighed down by past mistakes, disappointments, or regrets and struggle to move forward. Still others settle into comfort and lose sight of God's continuing call upon their lives. Yet the Christian journey was never meant to be lived in reverse or neutral. God continually calls His people forward into greater maturity, deeper faith, and greater effectiveness for His Kingdom.
Join Pastor Joshua Kennedy as he teaches Press Toward the Sky. In this message from the Take Flight Series, you will discover that spiritual growth requires intentional pursuit and perseverance. Like Paul, believers must refuse to allow yesterday's victories, yesterday's failures, or today's comforts to determine tomorrow's faithfulness. God is always calling His people to keep growing, keep trusting, and keep pursuing the purpose He has set before them.
This message will challenge you to examine areas where you may have become stagnant, distracted, or comfortable. The Lord has not called His church to stand still. He has called His people to continue pressing forward, reaching higher, and pursuing the heavenly calling found in Christ Jesus. There is still more to learn, more to become, and more to accomplish for God's glory. The church must never settle for where it is when God is calling it forward into what He has prepared.
