90 Yards to Pronghorn Bacon | Clay Hubele's First Wyoming Speedgoat

At just 16 years old, Clay Hubele is already making some serious memories in the hunting woods. But when he headed into Wyoming's wide-open prairies alongside his dad, Ted, chasing his first-ever pronghorn, he was about to put his archery skills to the ultimate test. This week on the Prayin and Slayin Podcast, Aaron sits down with Clay and Ted Hubele to relive an incredible father-son adventure that ended with a 90+ yard bow shot on a beautiful Wyoming speedgoat! From challenging stalks and elusive pronghorn to the split-second decisions that come with bowhunting in wide-open country, Clay walks us through the hunt and the moment all those hours of practice finally paid off. Clay shares his passion for competitive archery, the importance of consistent practice, and his biggest advice for shooting under pressure: Don't get in your own head! Ted, a member of the DEADNUTS Outdoors Field Ops Team, brings years of western hunting experience to the conversation as we dive into judging trophy pronghorn, hunting Wyoming's public lands, building confidence behind the bow, and the value of raising the next generation of hunters. We also talk bow setups, long-range archery, wild game cooking, future hunting adventures, and why pronghorn might just be some of the best meat you'll ever put in the freezer. TELL US SOMETHING GOOD Clay's message to the world is simple: Get outside, explore, do something you enjoy, and keep pushing yourself! SCRIPTURE OF THE EPISODE – ECCLESIASTES 3:12–13 (NIV) "I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God." Clay's story brings this verse to life. From hours of archery practice and competition to sharing unforgettable hunts with his dad, he's experiencing the satisfaction of hard work and the blessings that come from doing what you love. Get outside. Put in the work. Enjoy God's creation. And appreciate the journey along the way! SPLIT: A Tennessee Velvet Buck | Spencer Odle

A target buck. Three weeks without a picture. One opening-weekend opportunity. Spencer Odle joins the Prayin' and Slayin' Podcast from West Tennessee to tell the story of "Split"—a mature velvet 9-point that Spencer had his sights set on all summer. Spencer grew up hunting and fishing alongside his dad and granddad on a 532-acre Tennessee property his family has managed since 1992. After years of bowhunting, 2026 finally gave him the opportunity he'd been waiting for: a mature target buck during Tennessee's early velvet season. Split first showed up with a bachelor group in June. By mid-July, Spencer knew which buck he wanted. Then, just weeks before season, Split disappeared. Until one trail-camera notification changed everything. Opening weekend brought an encounter Spencer won't soon forget. A spike at five yards. Split suddenly appearing at 20. A shot Spencer wasn't willing to force. A group of young bucks that brought out an unexpected territorial side of Split—and finally, a 24-yard opportunity at a licking branch Spencer originally established when he was just 17 years old. We also talk about growing up in the outdoors, managing whitetail habitat, early-season deer patterns, the Bow Hunting League, bowhunting since age 12, Dr Pepper venison jerky, future turkey adventures, and why sometimes the best hunting strategy is simply knowing when NOT to make a move. TELL US SOMETHING GOOD: Spencer closes the episode with a reminder to trust in the Lord, pray about everything, put Him first, and be thankful for another day. SPECIAL NETWROK DROP: Birthdays, Pronghorn, and Prairie Dogs - From Field To Future with Jeremy Chvilicek

What do you get a six-year-old for his birthday? For Jack, the answer was easy: go speed goat hunting with Dad. In this special episode of the Prayin’ and Slayin’ Podcast, we’re handing the mic over to Jeremy Chvilicek, host of From Field to Future, for a father-son adventure that captures exactly what the newest show on the Prayin’ and Slayin’ Network is all about. Jack’s birthday happens to line up perfectly with Montana’s archery season, and last year Jeremy and Jack started a tradition they hope will last for years to come: forget the presents and parties — head east and chase pronghorn instead. This year, Jeremy drew the tag, loaded the gear, and hit the road with his almost-six-year-old hunting partner. What follows is a weekend filled with camping, spot-and-stalk archery hunting, a couple of close encounters with antelope, some lessons learned the hard way, and a whole lot of prairie dog shooting when the speed goats weren’t cooperating. But this episode is about much more than punching a tag. Jeremy digs into why he and his wife are prioritizing experiences over things, how he keeps young kids engaged during long days outdoors, and why success with kids doesn’t always look like bringing an animal home. He also shares how shooting prairie dogs and reactive targets can build real-world shooting skills before kids are old enough to hunt big game. There’s no antelope in the cooler at the end of this one — but there are memories, lessons, and another chapter in a birthday tradition that Jack and his dad will hopefully share for decades. That’s what From Field to Future is all about: getting kids outdoors today to build better adults tomorrow.
