Books that contain names, so to speak. We have examples of this in the Old Testament, what we might call family registries. If you look in Exodus 32. and so forth. But also books that are recorded for judgment. And if we look in Revelation 20, verses 11 through 15, which is almost a parallel of this scene, we see kind of both of those going on.
