Preaching the Word

About Preaching the Word

The "First Principle" podcasts which are numbered # are a great tool for believers to go over the essentials of the Christian Faith. The "Mysteries of God's Word" podcasts are an indepth study of Scripture. The other podcasts are sermons that have been given, some verse by verse and others topical. It is my passion to be true to God and His Word. To preach in such a way that people can easily see the LORD as our Creator and as our Redeemer. To understand that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever even as we live in a world that is continually changing. Salvation is and has always been through faith alone in the Messiah alone. His name is Jesus the Christ; there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

John 12:12-19 - Palm Sunday, Reframed - The Mysteries of God's Word

Send us Fan Mail A crowd waves palm branches and shouts “Hosanna,” but John 12 shows there’s far more going on than a joyful parade. We step into the tension of Palm Sunday: people longing for freedom, leaders feeling their control slip, and Jesus choosing a path that doesn’t match anyone’s political script. If you’ve ever wondered why the triumphal entry matters, or why the Gospel of John tells it the way it does, we unpack the details that carry the weight. We talk through the meaning behi...

   John 12:1-10 - Mary’s Costly Worship - The Mysteries of God's Word

Send us Fan Mail A dinner in Bethany becomes the turning point that sets Passion Week in motion. Six days before Passover, Jesus returns to the very place where He raised Lazarus from the dead, even as the Jewish leadership tightens the net around Him. The room feels calm on the surface, but danger is close, and every choice starts to matter more. We slow down in John 12 to take in Mary’s stunning act of worship: she breaks open an expensive jar of pure nard and anoints Jesus, wiping His fee...

John 11:45-57 - When Miracles Trigger Murder - The Mysteries of God's Word

Send us Fan Mail A resurrection should end an argument, but John 11 shows it can also start a conspiracy. After Lazarus walks out of the tomb, many believe, and others run to report Jesus like he’s a public danger. We slow down in John 11:45–57 and follow the chain reaction from miracle to backlash, where the evidence is “overwhelming” and the response from leadership is still refusal. We talk through the Sanhedrin in plain terms, what it is, how it functions under Roman control, and why the...
