Podcast Overview

In this podcast we will discuss the hidden treasure of bodywork during pregnancy. The benefits go so much deeper than relaxation only! I found the most renown experts in the field of bodywork and pregnancy, and asked them about their experiences. Why do they think it is time to give bodywork a well deserved place in prenatal care, child birth preparation and postnatal care? I am Loes Madern, and I work as a Thai massage practitioner with pregnant women. I am mesmerized by the intricacies of our human being; how we treat ourselves, how we see ourselves, and why we deny ourselves to be as powerful as we can be. To me that became most clear when looking back at my two pregnancies. And so a fascination began.

#4 Mizan Therapy- Bushra Finch

Bushra Finch has been working in women’s health since for 25 years. She was a doula before doulas had a name, being part of a community where women traditionally support each other through birth and post natal healing. Bushra trained in abdominal massage with Rosita Arvigo 16 years ago before discovering a wide range of abdominal massage techniques from traditional healing. She then went on to develop a new form of healing, Mizan Therapy, and first began training others in 2014. There are now practitioners all over the world. Nearly all traditional medicine promotes womb health, the knowledge being handed down from mother to daughter. The Arabic word for womb comes from the same route as Mercy, and Bushra believes it is a blessing and an honour to have a womb, which we hold in sacred trust. Bushra has four “children” of whom she is intensely proud, ranging from 35 years down to 20. Bushra has been Chair of Doula UK, facilitated Nurturing Birth Doula preparation courses for five years, been featured in a range of magazines, radio programmes, television news and has spoken at several conferences. She has also studied TIBB natural medicine with the renowned Hakim Salim Khan. www.mizantherapy.com www.wombspace.co.uk www.mizanaustralia.com.au
