The organization provides free and confidential STI and HIV testing, treatment, and prevention education, as well as case-management services for clients living with HIV. Through the affiliated clinic, SHELL Health, AALS offers a variety of sexual health services including a mobile testing unit that’s available to bring clinical services to any county in Southwest Alabama.</p><p>This podcast is produced by PrEP & Play Wellness Media LLC.</p>

<p>In this episode, I'm joined by Shafia Zaloom to discuss consent. We talk about how she got into her work, some patterns seen in adults and teens who didn't receive affirmative consent education, consent as a continuous dialogue, legal vs ethical requirements of consent, as well as how to ask for consent without killing the mood. </p><p>Shafia Zaloom is a health educator, consultant, and author known as "the consent lady." Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, Cosmopolitan, NPR, and PBS. She teaches consent and sexuality education across a wide range of audiences, from high school students to graduate students at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and she leads trainings for teachers and workshops for parents nationwide.
