Для студенческого форума «Science Движ 3.0», проходившего в Санкт-Петербурге в конце ноября 2020 года и посвященного науке будущего, я, то есть Антон Шейкин, уместил основные идеи своего курса об истории футурологии в часовой доклад, аннотацию к которому помещаю ниже.Предсказаниями будущего человечество увлекалось с незапамятных времен. Пифии пытались его предвидеть, авгуры и астрологи — предугадать, а современные мыслители — спрогнозировать. К сожалению, почти никакие исторические прогнозы того, как выглядел бы, скажем, 2000 год, не имели к реальному 2000 году никакого отношения.Мы поговорим о знаменитых прогнозах будущего, обсудим причины, по которым одни оказались несостоятельными, а другие — провидческими, и попытаемся понять, какую пользу может принести даже несбывшееся предсказание. В частности, мы увидим:-какой прогноз будущего запечатлен на флаге Бразилии,-на страницах какого старого трактата соседствуют биткоины, виртуальная реальность и социальные сети,-какие мысли о будущем может подсказать пустое ночное небо.
