[…] What many didn't realise was that while he'd been presenting pointless and during the early years of House of Games, Osman had been writing a novel in secret, a crime thriller featuring four elderly armchair detectives living in a luxury retirement village who end up with a real murder to solve. Literary agent Juliet Mushins. I was the first person he showed it to. He said that he trusted that if I thought it was terrible, I would tell him that it was terrible. And I remember reading it in one day and I realised immediately that I had something very, very special on my hands.
