Behind The Mic - Stan Sy
Behind The Mic - Stan Sy Wave 89.1 DJ Stan Sy as you have never heard him before. The tables are turned in this episode as we get to know the man behind the mic a little bit more and beyond what we usually hear from him on radio and on his podcast. Listen as he talks about his start on radio, his mentors, his pivotal moments, some personal and very relatable tidbits about him as a person and how sticking to his guns took his career from the DJ's Booth to the Squared Circle (and things in between).

A Tribute To The Refuge of My Youth

Not a lot of people know this about me, but I'm quite a sentimental person. Specifically, I have a very strong attachment to houses/apartments that I have lived in, because for me, a certain chunk of my life, something significant to me, happened while I was living there. In this episode, I would like to share with you a tribute piece that I wrote for the house that I grew up in. In 2016, the house was sold (after being in the family for more than 50 years) and was demolished by its new owners. It was beyond heartbreaking.

Nostalgia Part 1

In Eposode 3, I am joined by my two closest friends Jerome and Nina as we dial back the time all the way to 2003.

Jerome and I were coworkers at 101.5 Campus Radio Naga. In this episode and for the sake of nostalgia, we address each with our Airnames (names that DJ's use when they go on-board/go on-air). By the way, we both hated our airnames. His was Kuya Jerry and mine was Baby Jett, please don't judge us since we didn't come up with those. But one has to put food on the table and I'll call myself by whatever name if only to do so. Nina and I met in Gov Villafuerte's English Proficiency Program where we were both trainers.

Both of them remain my closest friends to this day, probably because we speak the same kind of insanity. Today, we talk about how I became friends with them both, relive the fun and crazy days of radio for the MASA/Bakya market, lots of corny jokes, drunken memories and Tito/Tita realizations.

P.S. for your logo needs, please reach out to https://www.facebook.com/bitancurdesigns/?_rdc=1&_rdr
