How is that that we poor sinners may approach a holy God with confidence? Not because we are sufficient, but because Jesus Christ is. This message shows how Christ gives assurance, freedom in prayer, forgiveness when we confess sin, and grace to obey and love others. When our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and His grace is greater than our failures.

Behold The Lamb of God
John the Baptist's cry: "Behold the Lamb of God," directs our eyes away from ourselves to Jesus Christ. He came to take away the sin of the world. Like the Old Testament lambs, He was sacrificed in the sinner's place; unlike them, His offering was final and complete. We must behold Christ as the sinless Saviour, trust in His finished work, and rejoice in the forgiveness and peace He gives to all who believe.

The Cost of Sin
Sin is so costly. It separates us from God. Yet God is mighty to save. Our sins have created a barrier between us and Him, and "the wages of sin is death" the just penalty for our rebellion against our holy God. Sin brings painful consequences upon us and society, but its greatest cost was borne by Christ. On the cross, He endured the punishment that our sins deserved, laying down His life for all His people. As Isaiah declares, "He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed".
