Consecration in Magickal Practice - Provident Vox (S3 E4)
In this episode of Provident Vox, we explore the importance of consecration within magickal practice and the difference between merely owning a ritual object and transforming it into an active instrument of the Art.
Drawing upon ancient Egyptian practice, the Graeco-Egyptian Magical Papyri, the Solomonic grimoires, Agrippa and later ceremonial traditions, we examine how ritual objects are purified, named, awakened, appointed and bound to a specific purpose. We also discuss spirit vessels, talismans, ritual tools and the need to maintain their power over time.
The episode concludes with a simple, adaptable method for consecrating almost any magickal object.

A House Within A House - Provident Vox (S3 E1)
In this first episode of season 3, we explore a curious and recurring pattern in spirit behavior: their attraction to what might be called “a house within a house.” From spirit houses and dollhouses to wardrobes, cupboards, pet houses, and even hotels, we discuss why enclosed, nested structures seem to draw spiritual presence so often. Along the way, we examine how spirits may perceive vacancy, occupation, scale, containment, and liminality very differently from the living, and why these strange preferences may be less random than they first appear.

The Theatre of Ritual: Pomp Versus Power - Provident Vox (S2 E8)
In this episode, we delve into the uneasy contrast between ritual as true magick and ritual as spectacle. We speak about the difference between authentic workings and theatre designed to impress onlookers, exploring how psychology and belief are often mistaken for genuine power. Drawing from real examples—some subtle, others undeniable—we reveal how magick often appears plain to the untrained eye, yet can produce tangible, startling results when least expected. Along the way, we also give a simple yet potent healing spell employing the ancient Sator Rotas square, demonstrating how authentic practice can be direct, effective, and entirely free of pomp.

In this seventh episode of season 2, we journey deep into the Spirit World—beginning with the ancient Sumerian and Babylonian visions of the afterlife before moving into our own necromantic insights. Thoughtforms: The Spirits We Create - Provident Vox (S2 E6)
In this episode, we unravel the tangled web of thoughtforms, servitors, and egregores—those strange beings born not of nature, but of human imagination and will. Far from being “lesser” spirits, thoughtforms can grow in power to rival gods themselves, blurring the line between what is real and what is created. We trace their roots back through ancient cultures, explore their connection to animism and perception, and confront the tragic consequences of careless creation. Along the way, we challenge popular assumptions, question whether some deities may be collective thoughtform variants, and reflect on what it really means to wield the power of creation responsibly.

Curses and Anchorpoints: How Magick Finds Its Foothold – Provident Vox (S2 E4)
In this episode, we dive into the hidden mechanics of curses — how they actually take hold, why they need weaknesses to anchor themselves, and the way they spread through a person’s life once they’ve found a foothold. We explore the path of least resistance that all magick follows, the role of self-work in sealing cracks, and why some people appear almost immune to malediction. Along the way, we share practical methods for fortifying yourself, from daily discipline to visualization techniques, so you can stop curses at their root and build an unshakable inner fortress.
