We also discuss how treatment options will vary as the technology progresses and XR becomes more widely embraced by the healthcare community.</p><p> </p><p>Psychiatry XR's three hosts provide distinct perspectives of extended reality and the impact technology has on the healthcare ecosystem:</p><p> </p><p><strong>Kim Bullock, M.D. </strong>is a practicing clinician in Behavioral Neurology, Neuropsychiatry, and Lifestyle Medicine. She is also a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Stanford University School of Medicine.</p><p> </p><p>She is the Founder and Director of Stanford's Neurobehavioral Clinic and Virtual Reality & Immersive Technologies (VRIT) program and laboratory. She is also a leader and pioneer in telehealth services using XR. She's published numerous peer-reviewed articles and is a Cambridge and Oxford Press author about functional neurological disorders. </p><p> </p><p>She currently focuses on the use and dissemination of immersive technologies for telepsychiatry and its use in the augmentation of physiotherapy, psychotherapy, and skills acquisition. She treats a multitude of illness domains, including trauma, phobias, anxiety, pain, mood disorders, and somatic symptom-related disorders. </p><p> </p><p>Dr. Bullock also provides support and connects researchers, providers, and developers of immersive technology through the Stanford Psychiatry Immersive Technology Consortium (SPIT-C).</p><p> </p><p><strong>Jessica Hagen</strong> is the Executive Editor of HIMSS Media outlet MobiHealthNews. Her current work focuses on the digital health sector, including transformation and innovation in the industry, investments, and partnerships. Her current and previous work includes covering the evolution of medical XR.</p><br><p>She previously worked for the UK-based publication pharmaphorum, covering the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and general happenings within healthcare globally. She also reported on pharma’s use of medical XR, how immersive technology has progressed internationally, and what still needs to occur regarding developing widely accepted standards of evaluating virtual environments.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Faaizah Arshad </strong>graduated from University of California, Los Angeles. Jonah Bryan: The Future of Behavioral Health Monitoring with Smart Glasses
<p>In this episode<strong>,</strong> Psychiatry XR welcomes <strong>Jonah Bryan</strong>, a recent Stanford Clinical Informatics Management graduate and a rising leader at the intersection of immersive technology, behavioral health, and artificial intelligence. Jonah shares his journey from early digital phenotyping research at UC San Diego to his latest work designing software for smart glasses that aim to detect and predict relapse in patients recovering from substance use disorders.</p><br><p>Jonah has been an intern with the Psychiatry XR team since early 2025 and will be joining as a co-host of the podcast! His unique perspective, combining clinical research, product design, and an understanding of venture capital, positions him to help advance conversations across stakeholders in this space.
