   Joe Bitter

In this episode of Punk Rock Creatives, Marie chats with acoustic folk punk musician Joe Bitter about music, songwriting, the DIY punk scene and everything in between. We get into Joe's musical journey, his influences, and what draws them to folk punk and the positives and negatives of performing with just an acoustic guitar, verse playing with a full band (Joe used to play guitar for London street punk legends Emergency Bitter, just incase you are not in the know). As always, the conversation as you would expect includes football, also the strange and downright random things that can happen at punk gigs (we have both had some eyebrow raising stuff said to us other the years), and some of the wonderfully unpredictable moments that make live punk music what it is. Folk punk, football, music, laughs, noisey children in the background and a few completely random tangents — just another episode of Punk Rock Creatives!

   Cero Viejo (ex Authority Zero)

In this episode of Punk Rock Creatives, Marie chats with Bill Marcks and Jeremy Wood, founding members of Authority Zero and now their new band, Cero Viejo. We get into the story behind Cero Viejo, from Bill and Jeremy's first meeting at high school in the 1990s to their musical journey together, including chaotic gigs, the things that inspire them, and the excitement and challenges of starting something new. We also explore the current political climate in America and how the world around us influences creativity and music. We chat about their upcoming self-funded tour across the West Coast and Pacific Northwest, the possibility of bringing Cero Viejo over to the UK, and whether starting your own record label is a brilliant idea or just another headache waiting to happen! As always, the conversation takes a few unexpected turns, including Dobby the House-Elf, the menopause, and plenty of laughs along the way. As a bonus the guys treat us to some live acoustic music on the podcast! Music, politics, friendship and some random tangents.

   Marie & the Meltdownz

In this episode of Punk Rock Creatives, things get a little closer to home as Marie sits down with her own band, Marie & the Meltdownz, for a chat about music, gigs, touring and all the chaos that comes with being in a band together. We talk about touring, the places we've never played but would love to take the Meltdownz to, and what life on the road together might actually look like — including who would survive on tour and, perhaps more importantly, which member of the band would have the best chance of surviving a zombie apocalypse (we conclude that everyone should be asked this question). There's plenty of gig talk too, including fights at shows, the strange things that can happen when you put a load of people in a room with loud music, and our shared love and appreciation for the people who can make or break your night: sound engineers. Good sound engineers really are the unsung heroes of live music, and we give them some much-deserved appreciation. We get into some of the music we love along the way, including Thin Lizzy — and, of course, Phil Lynott 😎 — Papa Roach, Amen, and Madonna, as well as talking about the different influences and tastes we all bring to the band. We also chat about being shy while simultaneously choosing to get up on stage in front of people, what we're actually like together as a band, playing live, where we'd like to take Marie & the Meltdownz next, and the reality of making music together.
