Compared to the flashy and bright arcade games at the time, Polybius didn't stand out. There was no character mascot or artwork on the sides, and there was no information on the manufacturer. Not even instructions on how to play the game. Players of the game allegedly suffered from migraines, blackouts, and nightmares. For the severe cases, there were some that suffered from seizures, amnesia, insomnia, night terrors, and hallucinations. In some versions of this legend, some children died after playing the game.
