QUEER CHRONICLES is a show that empowers LGBTQ+ folks to document their personal lives and experiences in their own words. In our premiere season, a group of teenagers share their perspectives on growing up queer, trans and gender non-conforming – all while living in states where their very existence is under attack.
Journalist, author and transgender activist Raquel Willis hosts the series, guiding us through their self-discovery, hobbies, family and community life, self-expression, and life as queer and trans teens. Follow along as we learn about their journeys, their struggles and challenges, and how they are finding what queer and trans liberation means to them.
On this special episode of Queer Chronicles, we bring together some notable *adult* guests: actress, activist and drag queen Miss Peppermint; ACLU lawyer and trans rights activist Chase Strangio; and activist, community organizer, drag queen and founder of the non-profit Southern Fried Queer Pride, TAYLOR ALXNDR.
Our roundtable of guests reflect on stand-out moments from our teens this season – and they share their own experiences, insights, advice and solidarity.

Ep 7: We Are The Future
As we near the end of this season of Queer Chronicles, we brought our teens together to have an open conversation about coming into their identities, experiences at school, and their reactions to the politics (and politicians) impacting their lives. Hear as, for the first time on the show, Connor, Daniel, Safara, It and Libby connect directly with each other.

Ep 6: We Will Not Be Erased
After feeling exhausted by advocacy work, Daniel and Libby wanted to make a powerful statement rooted in the celebration of trans youth. On May 22, 2023, they invited 50 youth from across the country to their own special prom in front of the US Capitol, a beautiful and bold display of trans joy.

Ep 5: Love is an Infinite Resource
There haven’t always been many representations of queer love in the media for youth to look up to. So they often forge their own path. In this episode, Indigo tells us all about his girlfriend, how he defines love, and what it takes to make a relationship work.

Ep 4: My Own Safe Space
In this episode, some of our cast of teenagers talk about the spaces they feel joy or find sanctuary in. From online communities and tarot circles to an all-trans choir that sings about collective liberation, we explore the importance of safe spaces for queer and trans youth – and how even everyday hobbies can make us feel seen.

Ep 3: Feels Like Magic
Trans health care for youth has been in the news a lot lately. In this episode, we have a roundtable discussion about hormone replacement therapy: the experience of it, the hurdles to accessing it, and the ways it can expand our thinking of gender expression and feeling at home in your body.

Ep 1: Why Don't I Just Exist?
What does it mean to express your authentic self? Who are you when you’re alone, or when you feel your safest? In the season premiere of Queer Chronicles, we meet a group of teenagers in political battleground states across the country who show us how they find ways to live authentically, even while the world around them tries to keep them silent.
