<p>Hello! <strong>Welcome to</strong> <strong>Queer Faith</strong>, <strong>a safe place where we discuss the connections between faith, social justice, and queerness</strong>. I am your host, Andie Esmond-Grace! I grew up in American Evangelical Christianity, went to Bible College, was a worship leader for several years, and have spent the last 4 years going through a journey of deconstruction and rebuilding of my faith since coming out of the closet as trans. I also spent over 10 years struggling with self-harm, alcoholism, and suicide attempts. Since January of 2021, I have been dedicated to living the life that I was created by God to live - honestly, fully, and out loud. Now that I am on this journey of healing, wholeness, and living proudly as myself, I want to share some of what I have learned with others who may be struggling, or may just not understand. If you’re asking yourself if this podcast is for you, I believe the answer is yes! <strong>This podcast is for the weirdos, the outcasts, the faithful and the faithless, the ones who get it, and especially those who don’t.</strong> So, to whomever you are, wherever you are, thank you for tuning in, and I hope you find this episode helpful, entertaining, and enlightening.</p>

Is Zionism Biblical??
<p>In light of what has happened in the last 24 hours, I have decided to do an unplanned episode on the topic of Israel, War, and Government. </p><p>So if you haven’t heard, the United States bombed Iran last night in an attempt to stifle nuclear power being used as weapons against Israel. There are some people who believe that it is a Christian’s duty to defend Israel, and therefore this was a good and God-backed decision. I disagree vehemently - for MANY reasons… let me break down exactly why... </p>

Andie's Story - How did I get here?
<p>Today’s episode is going to be different from what this podcast will typically be, but hopefully you listeners won’t mind too much. I am going to be telling you all my own story - or at least the parts that I can fit into a podcast episode! I realize that not everyone has interacted with or heard from someone who is both queer AND a follower of Jesus, so I feel it’s important to share my journey of contending with both queerness and faith. </p><p>Biblical references: </p><p>Philippians 2:12</p>
