We're Still Here: The Megaphone Comes Back On!
When Queer Folx Megaphone launched in June 2020, it arrived in one of the most turbulent moments in recent history: the peak of the pandemic, nationwide racial justice uprisings,and the 4th anniversary of the Pulse massacre. It was a show born out of urgency.
A megaphone was turned on because the community needed amplification. The comeback episode honors that origin while acknowledging the silence that has followed. Dr. Gary Howell, a gay psychologist and educator, returns not with an apology for the pause, but with a reckoning: What has the queer community been through since 2020? What has Gary been through? And why does this megaphone need to be louder now thanever?
This episode is about coming back: to yourself, to your people, to your voice. It sets the stage for a reimagined season while giving longtime listeners closure and new listeners acompelling entry point.
