#70 Benefits of Quitting Weed: What Actually Changes in Your Life
Benefits of quitting weed, area by area: the money, the words coming back, the emotional range, the evenings with the people in the room, the body, ordinary things counting again, and the part that does not get better on its own. This episode is about what actually changes in an ordinary life after quitting weed, and how much each part changes. It is not the week-by-week timeline of the body recovering, and it is not about the nights themselves. - Why the first weeks feel like a loss: whatever weed took away is gone on day one, and most of what comes back arrives later and quietly. - Money: a hundred to four hundred a month for many daily users, the one change that is there in full from the first day and never wobbles. - Whether the saved money is the thing to hold on to in the bad early weeks, or whether nobody stays off weed for the price of it and the change that keeps people out is being present in their own evenings. That is the point of contention. - Sleep as the benefit people believe in least: the first two weeks of broken nights and intense dreams, and why most daily users end up sleeping better than they did while smoking. - Breathing within days, skin within weeks, training that works because rest works. - Weeks three and four: the word arriving when needed, remembering yesterday's conversation, a thought surviving to the end of its sentence, and why what comes back is the person from before the daily use. - The emotional range a few months in: joy sharper, frustration sharper, feeling things at their real volume instead of smoothing them out. - Why ordinary things like food, a finished task or a normal conversation stop counting during daily use, and how they start counting again. - Low background worry that daily use was partly producing, fading around two to three months. - What does not get better on its own: a bad job, a low mood that was there before, a relationship that was already failing. Taking the weed away makes it visible, not smaller. - The evening itself: being there for the boring middle of a conversation, keeping plans, no longer arranging the day around the next chance to smoke unnoticed. - A year out: people who describe themselves as someone for whom the question no longer comes up, and what they name as the change that mattered. This is general information, not medical advice. ā¬ā¬ā¬ā¬ Chapters ā¬ā¬ā¬ā¬ 00:00 The flat evening three weeks in 00:29 The changes arrive in the wrong order 01:26 Money: the one change that needs no patience 01:53 Count the cash or not: the point of contention 03:07 Sleep: the benefit people trust least 04:43 Breathing, skin and training 05:44 Words come back around weeks three and four 07:03 The emotional range returns 07:49 Ordinary things start counting again 09:25 Low background worry fades 09:48 What does not get better on its own 11:07 The evening itself: being in the room 12:26 A year out: identity 12:42 What people name as the biggest change #quitweed #quittingweed #benefitsofquittingweed #cannabis #weedwithdrawal

#69 How Long Does Insomnia Last After Quitting Weed: the worst stretch, the dip and when it turns
Insomnia after quitting weed: how long it usually lasts, the worst days, the second week dip with vivid dreams, the point where sleep turns better than it was while smoking, and when it becomes a question for a doctor. This episode is about the timeline of that sleeplessness after quitting weed: which stretch is the worst, which one feels like going backwards, and when sleeping without weed becomes better than sleeping with it. It is not about sleep aids or about the vivid dreams as a subject of their own. - Why the body put its own sleep system on standby while weed was doing the job every night, and why it does not switch back on the moment you stop. - Days one to four: sleep that arrives slowly, in pieces or not at all, waking in the middle of the night, and why this is where most people give up. - Days five to fourteen: total sleep creeping back while the pattern stays broken, and dream sleep catching up on what it missed. - Why the second week can feel worse than the first, and why waking up exhausted from intense dreams is the recovery working, not failing. - Weeks three to six: where the night rebuilds itself, and why many people sleep better by week four to six than they did while smoking. - Who has it longer: years of daily use, weed as the only way of falling asleep, unease at bedtime, a demanding stretch of life. - What people do on the bad nights: not fighting it, out of bed after about twenty minutes awake, a cooler body an hour before bed, a low dose of melatonin or magnesium in the evening. - Whether the alarm should go off at the same time from the first morning, even after three hours, or whether the first week should sleep whenever sleep comes. That is the point of contention. - Past six to eight weeks with no improvement at all: heavier disruption than usual, or a sleep or anxiety problem the weed was sitting on top of. This is general information, not medical advice. ā¬ā¬ā¬ā¬ Chapters ā¬ā¬ā¬ā¬ 00:00 The midnight arithmetic 00:52 The question typed into a phone 01:19 Why the sleep system went on standby 01:42 Days one to four: the worst stretch 01:59 Exhausted but wired 02:32 Days five to fourteen: uneven progress 02:57 The second week feels like going backwards 03:34 Weeks three to six: the night rebuilds 04:03 Who has it longer 04:41 Fighting the night makes it worse 05:03 Cool room, low dose melatonin, magnesium 05:15 Same alarm every morning or sleep when it comes 06:14 Past six to eight weeks: a question for a doctor 06:40 The recovered sleep only comes on the far side 07:00 A hard window with an end #quitweed #cannabiswithdrawal #weedwithdrawal #insomnia #sleep

#68 Supplements for Cannabis Withdrawal: which one for which symptom
Supplements for cannabis withdrawal: which one goes with which symptom, what melatonin, magnesium, valerian and inositol actually do, what does not belong in the line-up, and when to stop taking them. This episode sorts them out: which supplement belongs to which symptom of weed withdrawal, what each one does and what it cannot touch, what is a waste of money, and when most people stop needing any of it. It is not a full episode on any single supplement, not a sleep aid comparison, and not about clearing THC faster. - Why none of this does the quitting or removes withdrawal, and what "one symptom down a notch" is actually worth in the first two to three weeks. - Sleep after weed: slow to fall asleep, waking at night, thin sleep, and why melatonin is a signal that it is night rather than a knockout. - Why a low dose of melatonin beats a high one, and why the vivid dreams come regardless. - Restlessness, shoulders up, jaw tight: what magnesium does for the calming side of the nervous system. - Magnesium oxide versus glycinate, and why the cheap form mostly passes through and upsets the stomach. - Why magnesium is the one bottle most people would keep if they could only keep one. - Whether to start melatonin and magnesium together on the first evening, or one thing at a time so there is an honest answer after a week about what did what. That is the point of contention. - Valerian as the second option for wired evenings: modest, variable, low risk. - The settled low-level dread of the second week and why inositol is for the long tail, not the first days. - What does not belong: CBD as a personal call rather than a tool, and branded "cannabis detox" boxes that repackage the same three things at a higher price. - How it tends to go over the first month: melatonin plus magnesium early, magnesium stays, inositol if the dread stays, melatonin wound down as sleep returns. - When to stop, and why nobody selling this says it: four to six weeks for most, and what it means to still lean on melatonin at eight weeks. - Why sleep, food, walking, people and time do most of the work, and what it means if the unease is still running the show after the first month. This is general information, not medical advice. ā¬ā¬ā¬ā¬ Chapters ā¬ā¬ā¬ā¬ 00:00 Five bottles in a browser tab 00:44 What supplements can and cannot do 01:02 Sleep without weed 01:25 Melatonin: a signal, not a knockout 01:54 The dreams come regardless 02:12 Restlessness and a tight jaw 02:23 Magnesium and why the form matters 03:03 Two from the first evening, or one at a time 03:48 Valerian for wired evenings 04:23 The dread of week two 04:38 Inositol for the long tail 04:56 CBD and branded detox boxes 05:34 How it tends to go over the first month 05:58 When to stop 06:17 What the bottles sit on top of 06:34 If the unease is still there after a month 06:45 The whole size of the promise #weedwithdrawal #quittingweed #cannabiswithdrawal #supplements #quitweed
