About R3 NYC AFTER HOURS
Brooklyn native RIVKA R3 NYC is a DJ and producer whose journey through house music began in the mid-1980s and evolved into a career spanning two decades behind the decks and in the studio. Launching her DJ career in 2004 under the moniker RUBI R-Tres, RIVKA R3 NYC quickly established herself through residencies, radio shows, and events across New York City. Her eclectic yet deeply rooted sound has brought her to influential spaces and platforms including Mad Radio NYC, Soul Records Laboratory (Soul In The Horn), FunkBox NYC, Golden Record NYC, The Lot Radio (BK), and TOCA Cielo NYC. Throughout her career, RIVKA R3 NYC has shared the lineup with an impressive roster of house and electronic music artists, including Tony Humphries, Anané, Hex Hector, Tony Touch, Jon Cutler, Stacey Kidd, Matthias Heilbronn, DJ Ebar, Scott Richmond, Oscar P, Kenny Summit, DJ Disciple, Joe Claussell, and Vince Watson, among others. Inspired by foundational figures such as Larry Heard, Kerri Chandler, and Todd Terry, RIVKA R3 NYC expanded her musical journey into production in 2020. Her productions explore the deeper and more soulful dimensions of electronic music, moving fluidly through Deep House, Detroit Techno, Acid House, and Afro/Tribal House. In 2023, RIVKA R3 NYC began releasing music with respected labels including Open Bar Music, Kolour Recordings, Mavek Recordings, and Jazz In Da House, marking a new chapter in her evolution from longtime DJ to recording artist. With roots firmly planted in New York's rich underground dance-music culture and a sound shaped by decades of listening, playing, and digging, RIVKA R3 NYC continues to connect the history of house music with its future—one groove at a time.
