[…] If you have a look, 2024 was the warmest year on record, almost 1.5 degrees warmer than pre-industrial times. And this is having major consequences around the world. Extreme weather events, which all of us see in the news almost every single week. It's rising sea levels that are causing problems with coasts and it's having a direct effect on people's health now. So this is a crisis that we can avoid because we can just stop burning fossil fuels. But as we all know from the geopolitics of today, that's not easy because there's so much vested interest and so much money in that infrastructure. And that's our job over the next couple of decades, moving away from fossil fuels to renewable energy to have a much cleaner, safer world for all. […]
