I sometimes say it's one of the most important institutions in our society that most people know almost nothing about. Very broadly in higher education, there's sort of three main categories of actors. There's the federal government, they finance higher education, they regulate it as a government. In many ways, state government, same thing, regulate and finance higher ed. And then there's a third actor in the place who would speak, a third member of what's often referred to as the triad, and that's their creditors. […]
